Quiet please: Issue No. 24 is out just in time for the start of Summer - featuring an ode to the most beautiful courts in the world by Nick Pachelli and a revival of the tennis club, captured in partnership with Gucci.
Ahead of its 20th anniversary, and as the pro tour visits the All England Lawn and Tennis Club, this issue features an oral history of the film Wimbledon remembered by its director and stars by frequent contributor Caira Conner, tennis travel diaries by musicians Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy and Zac Farro of Paramore, an autobiographical essay by perennial Top 10 WTA player Caroline Garcia and the strangest story involving the dark arts you've ever read. We’re also using the occasion of this edition to launch a partnership with Seoul-based cultural curators Ssoldot, on the precipice of a tennis explosion in Korea. Theresa Lin, who so compellingly profiled Issue No. 22 cover star Qinwen Zheng, this year's Australian Open Finalist, returns here with a piece of short fiction.
Racquet is a magazine that celebrates the art, ideas, style and culture that surround tennis. They fondly remember the swashbuckling sport of the tennis boom of the 1970s and ’80s, and work to restore some of that swagger too today’s game. Racquet works with some of the best writers – those experienced in the tennis conversation, and those who’ve never covered the sport – as well as celebrated artists and photographers to explore the modern tennis landscape, bringing you something beautiful and meaningful four times a year.
